AboutIn a lot of ways, Ferris Wheel Coffee is about enduring friendship, unlikely love, and the exploration of the known unknown. Our founders (Jackie, Ethan, Jake, and Rachel) are all professionals and friends, connected through one important thing: the love of great coffee. ☕ While visiting a coffee shop after work one day, I got my usual latte and picked up a bag of coffee for sale on the shelf. Noticing the differences in the information on the bags, including flavor notes, regions, and roast levels, I began to wonder what it all meant and how it was connected. After a little research, I realized I both loved coffee... AND knew almost nothing about it. Thus began the spark of curiosity that would bloom into an obsession. I dove right into roasting with the most commonly noted way to begin at home: a regular ol’ popcorn popper. Once I purchased a “starter set,” which included a bright and shiny red air-popper and four pounds of raw, green coffee beans, I began fervently roasting. At first, I was just roasting for myself, but soon after, I was drowning in coffee and pulled in friends and family to start tasting as well. Little did I know that my adventure with the little popcorn popper would transform into the beginning of a business venture. My husband Ethan and I realized we had stumbled upon something unique and exciting when we began receiving tons of positive feedback. Knowing we couldn’t do this alone, we turned to life-long friends who had also expressed interest in entrepreneurship (the fact that they also loved coffee was an added benefit). Ferris Wheel Coffee Company was born—created out of a desire to connect with communities, both near and far, with a product that is found in almost every home across the world. As our connections with our community began to grow, we discovered other people shared our desire to not only have a great cup of coffee, but also to understand the process of how it was made. In our research of the life of coffee, we learned about “third-wave,” which is about creating the best, highest-quality coffee experience from farm to barista, and what that means for the coffee industry. ☕ Identifying with third-wave initiatives has allowed us to explore ways to grow a more sustainable company. Our mission: Work closely with importers and develop direct relationships with farms so we can ensure the farms and their communities are growing and thriving. Support our own community by offering a living wage to all our employees, and finding ways we can reduce waste. Educate and empower our customers to brew the best possible cup of coffee within their own homes or businesses. Ensure we are placing the freshest possible coffee in the hands of our customers. ☕ What started as a small curiosity to learn more about a popular beverage has bloomed into a passion that grows stronger with every batch of coffee I roast. We encourage you to visit with us at our retail space, connect with us on social media, and to give our coffee a try. It might just change your life like it changed mine. -Jackie, Head Roaster and Founder
What Texans are saying
My husband and I Iiked this coffee.
This one was utilized for out Thanksgiving crowd, and it was a pleaser!
Another winning selection from the TCC curators . . . fits my mellow, slightly sweet mood of a lazy Saturday morning when I fill up my quart-size coffee mug before settling down to a good book in my favorite chair.
